JOB FOLDER TEMPLATE — IDM Engineering (Chester) Ltd
Welding management system · IDM-FPC-WQM-001
================================================================

WHAT THIS IS
Copy this whole folder into 09 Jobs / <year> and rename it

    <job number> - <customer> - <component>

One folder per job. The seven numbered sub-folders are the seven
sections of the Welding Job Pack (WMS-JP-01), in the order they are
worked. Work the job in folder order and the release pack assembles
itself.

WHAT GOES WHERE

  00 Customer Documents
The customer's own paperwork: order, drawing, specification,
any standard they impose. Write the drawing revision down.

01 Contract and Technical Review WMS-E-01
02 Weld Map and Welder Allocation WMS-E-02
03 Material and Consumable Issue WMS-E-09
  04 Weld Log WMS-E-04
  05 Inspection Records WMS-E-05
  06 Non-conformance WMS-E-08
  07 Release WMS-E-12

THE BLANK FORMS ARE NOT IN THIS TEMPLATE, DELIBERATELY
Download the blank you need from the portal Documents page every
time. If blanks were shipped inside this template they would go out
of date the first time one was revised, and copying an obsolete
blank is how a superseded revision spreads through a shop.

A blank form is a document under document control.
A completed form is a record under records control.
They are not the same thing and are not kept the same way.

PAPER OR ON SCREEN
A job runs on the Job Pack on screen OR on paper — one or the other,
not both. Where the job pack is used on screen, this folder still
holds the customer's documents, anything signed in wet ink, and the
retention export.
